Director

Wicked Dance Works was founded in Mandurah by Louisa Grant. Louisa is a dance graduate with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours degree in Dance Education. She also has a foundation degree in Dance Performance, a National Diploma in Dance and a Diploma in Variety Entertainment. She has studied and can teach different dance styles but her main passions are Hip Hop, Locking, Contemporary, Commercial and Jazz.  She has taught in lots of different environments from private schools to youth centres and has ran her own dance and fitness classes for children and adults back in the U.K. She also has experience in educational surroundings such as teaching in Primary, High schools. colleges and Universities.

Louisa has a bag full of industry qualifications, she has studied Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Tap & Ballroom in I.D.T.A, I.S.D.T, RAD and Allied syllabi. She has won numerous dance awards throughout her dancing career and has recently added a business excellence award in 2014 for her phenomenal achievements at Wicked Dance Works.   She has also recently led a group of 35 Wicked students to Melbourne in January 2017 where they won 8 National Championship titles for a mixture of solo’s, duo,s and troupes! Louisa is a skilled fire and LED dancer and performer who is hired regularly for corporate, festival,club and private events. 

Louisa’s performance experience spans 28 years! Her first role was a small part in the play ‘The Crucible’ at the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool UK when she was just 6 years old! Louisa continued training in both dancing and drama as a child and worked as a regular background artist on 2 of the U. K’s biggest soap’s Hollyoaks and Brookside from the age of 14-18.

Brendan has been with Wicked Dance Works since the beginning!  He has over 17 years teaching experience and is a member of the Perth based Zou Rock Crew.  The Zou Rock Crew are an internationally know crew that have been together for over 10 years, Zou Rock now host the biggest annual Hip Hop competition in the state! Brendan has developed his own unique Breakin’ syllabi which teaches students the fundamentals of Breakin’ and Hip Hop.   Brendan has trained some of our B-boy’s from scratch and has led them to the finals of the WA Break Dancing Championships with one student being runner up of the whole competition!

Brendan is a sought after teacher, he teaches all over WA and at some of Perth’s best dance and performance schools.

Ramon Irael

Contemporary, Commercial Dance Teacher

Ramon Israel is a passionate performer who was originally born in South Africa but moved to Western Australia, Perth in 2008 to complete his studies and to further his dancing. Training under The Dance Collective in Jazz and Hip Hop for 2 years, Ramon then found himself wanting a career in the performing arts which therefore lead him to audition for APAN Academy where he trained in all genres of dance, acting and singing.  Ramon has recently been accepted on to Marco Panzic’s prestigious 12-week training course SHOW BUSINESS in Sydney.  

Some of Ramon’s credits include; Telethon, NFIA WA fireball, Telstra’s Perth Fashion Festival, Chevron City To Surf, Neon Run, choreographing Veronica Bravo ( X Factor Contestant), Back up dancer for Justice Crew, The West Coast Eagles, Home and Away cast, Carmelo Pizzino, Veronica Bravo, etc. Ramon Israel is determined to keep training/dancing and passing on his passion to other dancers!

Brenton Elliot

Technique, Jazz & Contemporary

Brenton has been dancing for over 25 years and teaching across Canberra, Perth and the Philippines for 15 years. He specialises in Jazz, Tap, Modern and Hip Hop. Teaching kids to learn, grow and socialise through dance is something he is very passionate about and he has been lucky to be involved in the industry for most of my life.

Brenton spent 2 years in Manila choreographing floor shows and overseeing the production of all the shows he choreographed. He was responsible for leading technique and conditioning classes for his team of professional dancers making sure they were in tip top condition for the extravagant productions. 

We are so excited to have Brenton join our Wicked family in 2017!

Musical Theatre

Lisa Adam is seasoned performer with over 30 year’s experience in the industry.  Lisa began her training at the Del Basso Academy of Dance, Jazz Tap.  She studied and graduated from WAAPA with a BA in Musical Theatre and became one of WA’s most sought after performers and teachers.  Lisa continues to perform regularly and also teachers at one of Perth’s top full time educational facilities APAN.  

 

Lisa’s performance credits include: Hilary – Clinton The Musical, Mary – Jersey Boys, Amy Housewine, The Rocky Horror Show, Fiddler on the Roof, Disney Live, Man of La Mancha, Angel City plus many, many more.

 

Lisa’s performance experience and knowledge is without doubt extremely extensive, we are very privileged to have her teach our students and look forward to her sharing her knowledge with us once again in 2017.

Sheree Hallet

Acrobatics

Sheree started gymnastics in Newman at the age of 5.  She then competed in 4 comps a year from the age of 5-13. Sheree compete in northwest teams for 5 years at state championships in Perth and from there competed in state every year. Sheree finished up as club champion for a number of years but unfortunately gave up at 13 due to injuries.

She was given the opportunity to go into a CAPS program which is a junior program to help train future coaches in the sport.  Upon moving to Perth. I was given a chance to train with elite gymnasts for 2 years and loved it! She got put through Level 1 and 2 coaching accreditation.  Since moving to Mandurah she found there were no clubs to continue teaching at and therefore decided to move in to the similar genre of Acrobatics.  

Sheree began teaching The Acrobatic Arts syllabus at Wicked just over a year ago and has taken Wicked’s Acro to the next level!  Students are now confidently flipping, twisting, balancing and everything in between! Sheree is also trained in injury management, injury strapping as well as nutrition and fitness training so you can rest assure that your child is on good hands!

Alex Shoenmaekers

Alexandra Schoenmaekers began calisthenics and rhythmic gymnastics at 4 years of age. At the age of 7, she joined Seena Bird Dance Academy in Melbourne where she was introduced to many different genres of dance including Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Ballet and Acrobatics. Alex also completed multiple theatrical CSTD exams during her time in Melbourne.
After moving to Perth in 2010 Alex continued her training at Perth Dance Centre. She attended classes in all genres. She has performed in multiple competitions every year with solos, duos and troupe routines.
In 2015 Alex completed a Certificate IV in Commercial Dance at the Australian Performing Arts Network. During that year she was fortunate enough to perform in High School Musical On Stage, at Telethon and was asked to dance at the telethon after party and has been fortunate enough to perform multiple shows.
In 2016 Alex graduated with an Advanced Diploma in Elite Performance. Alex has been fortunate enough to star as a lead role in Fame the Musical as Iris Kelly and Grease the Musical as Patty Simcox.
Performing multiple times at the Australian Dance Festival allowed Alex to grow as a performer and showcase her versatility. Alex has been able to dance for Rachael Beck, Rhonda Burchmore and Rob Mills. She also sung back up for Reigan Derry.
Alex has participated in classes and worked very closely with industry professionals such as Carmelo Pizzino (Dancing with The Stars), Lauren Seymour (Runner up on So You Think You Can Dance) and many more.

Lyrical, Jazz, Classical Ballet

Workshop teacher number 5 is our very own Shannon who is also Wickeds Lyrical and Classical Ballet Teacher!

Shannon grew up training with Valerie Heston School of Dance where she was introduced to the genres of jazz, tap, ballet and lyrical and trained in CSTD competition and exam work. She was accepted into John Curtin’s specialist ballet program (RAD). Over the next five years, she enriched my passion for ballet and contemporary dance and focused on the importance of technique across all dance styles.

After graduating, she attended the Principal Academy of Dance where she trained (ISTD) full time for two years. She specialises in ballet, jazz and pas de deux training. She has also trained in acting and singing with a group, and in 2013 graduated with my Advanced Diploma in performing arts.

Amelia Ticehurst

Hip Hop

Amelia has been dancing since she was a young girl.  She has trained in many genres but has specialised in Hip Hop in the last few years.  Amelia has been a teaching assistant for a few years at other studio’s and has assisted Louisa and Ramon at Wicked over the past year.  She has won 1st place at many competitions and is currently a National Champion as a member of Wicked’s 6210 Crew.  Amelia’s performance credits experience include The Woman’s Expo, Various Fashion Shows, Crab Fest, NYE Mandurah main stage plus many more.  Amelia loves to share her knowledge with the younger students and is looking forward to being a part of their development.

Popping & Hip Hop

Shaquille has been dancing for 10 years. He has always danced for self-expression, he believes dance is a very emotional, raw way of self-expression aim’s to teach young people to express themselves through dance instead of getting caught up with the bad things in life.

 

Since I have started dancing he has won competitions including highest score.  He has won best male dancer at battlegrounds 2015 and was the WA representative for AIMES got game 2016 where he performed with 4 other finalists at customs house in Sydney.  Shaquille also volunteer’s as a dance teacher for the Kwinana youth services which has awarded him with 2 nominations at the Australian youth awards for 2015 and 2016 in the cultural endeavours category. At such a young age Shaquille is a Prodigy and has achieved so much already.  We love having him teach at Wicked as he is very special and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for him.

Hip Hop, Lyrical, Acro, Jazz Assistant

Molly has danced with Wicked for four years. In those four years she has grown in to a confident and award winning performer. Molly trains in many genres including Ballet, Jazz, Commercial, Hip Hop, Acro, Lyrical and Contemporary.  Molly is a National Champion with Wicked’s 6210 crew and Jazz Troupe!  She has recently started her professional career being hired for gigs through Wicked’s Entertainment Company.  Her recent gigs include GlassHouse Safari Party & Clockwork Orange dancing for huge international DJ’s Tall Paul & Seb Fontaine at the Red Hill Auditorium in front of 5000 people.
